Register to vote by 17 April
On Thursday 3 May voters will go to the polls to elect local councillors to represent them on the District Council. Anyone who wants to be able to vote and have their say on 3 May must be registered to vote by Tuesday 17 April. Visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register.
Anyone away on the day of the election can apply to vote by post or proxy. The forms are available at www.yourvotematters.co.uk.
To be able to vote by post, completed application forms must be received at the Council Offices, Oxted no later than 5pm on 18 April and to vote by proxy, completed application forms must be received no later than 5pm on 25 April.

Chief Executive and Returning Officer Louise Round, said: “Our message is simple – if you’re not registered by 17 April, you can’t vote. I’d encourage everyone to act now if you’re not registered to vote and apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.”
