Westerham Sea Cadets

The Westerham Sea Cadet Corps meet on Tuesday and Thursday in the Drill Hall in the High Street.

It is a registered Charity and part of a nationwide voluntary youth organisation for young adults aged 12 – 18. We also recruit Junior Cadets aged 10 – 12.

Cadets will learn valuable skills and have the opportunity to gain qualifications that future employers view in high regard, such as first aid, DofE and BTEC. Training is based around a nautical theme, with cadets experiencing both indoor and outdoor lessons, in a variety of subjects.

During the summer, cadets get the chance to go boating, whereas in the winter, cadets tend to work more towards their chosen specialisations and proficiencies, such as cook steward, seamanship and shooting.

Westerham Sea Cadets is one of the newest units having been started in 2005. They currently have around 25 cadets and juniors, and have participated in local and community events such as the Jubilee Celebrations, Scarecrow Festival and Remembrance Day.

If you’d like to join, or to help, the Westerham Sea Cadets Group would be delighted to hear from you.
