On Thursday 2 May, local elections are taking place in all wards across the district, to elect 43 councillors.
Elections are also taking place for a Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner and for parish councillors in Caterham on the Hill, Caterham Valley, Warlingham, Whyteleafe and Woldingham parish councils. There is also a Tatsfield Neighbourhood Plan Referendum. This means you will be given either two or three ballot papers.
To be able to vote, you must be included in the Register of Electors. If you’re not already registered, please submit an online application by Tuesday 16 April.

Polling cards
Residents have started receiving their polling cards. It explains where your polling station is and will also give details of your postal vote if you’ve already registered to vote by post.
Your polling card is bigger, as it contains extra information about the need to bring photo ID to polling stations. You don’t need to bring your polling card with you to the polling station.
Don’t forget your photo ID
If you want to vote in a polling station, you’ll need to bring photo ID, such as your photo driving licence or passport, otherwise you won’t be able to vote. This is a relatively new requirement.
If you don’t have photo ID, you’ll need to apply for Voter ID by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.
